Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown tried his best to get out of a ticket, but he did not have a good excuse for putting himself as well as others in danger with his reckless driving.
Marquise Brown’s 2022 arrest for speeding 126 mph in a 65 mph zone has resurfaced in newly released police footage. In August, the wide receiver was arrested for speeding. Reportedly, Brown was going 126 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.
Body cam footage obtained by TMZ shows the Cardinals wide receiver told the Arizona Department of Public Safety officer during his 2022 arrest that he was on his way to football practice while being handcuffed.
“What the hell were you going that fast for?” the officer asked.
“Sorry, I was on my way to football practice, sir,” Brown could be heard saying, who was entering his first season in Arizona after being traded from Baltimore prior to the 2022 season.
“You know better than going that fast,” the officer said, to which Brown responded: “Yes, sir. I’m new here, sir.”
Brown plead guilty to a misdemeanor count of excessive speed after initially being faced with a criminal charge. The judge ultimately waived the $473 fine he was set to pay and gave Brown credit for time served.
