Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has pleaded guilty to a charge of excessive speeding.
Brown was in an Arizona court this Wednesday after being taken to task for driving at 126 MP/H in a 65 MP/H zone six months ago. The wideout entered a guilty plea and can be seen in a video obtained by TMZ, in which he’s shown wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants.
The Cards player did not have much to say on the day, but he and his attorney let the judge know he was keen on changing his original not-guilty plea to the misdemeanor charge.
The 25-year-old is set for sentencing next month, when it will be decided what his punishment will be. He’s facing either a fine of $500, a 30-day prison sentence, and/or one year’s probation. It’s unlikely the WR will be handed a custodial term.
Cops said they caught Brown going 61 MP/H over the limit in a 2020 Mercedes on a highway in Maricopa County on August 3, 2022. He was subsequently arrested and taken to jail.
Brown apologized for the incident a few days later at practice. He had a pretty inconsistent season for the Cardinals thereafter.
