Earlier this year, Marquette King took ot social media and stated before he retired, he wanted to ask one more time why he can’t get a job in the NFL.
King has been out of the NFL since a rocky 2018 stint with the Denver Broncos. The former Raiders punter went from one of the best in the league to out of a job real quick.
“If this is a performance based business @NFL and I’m really good at what I do “All pro” why am I being ignored? I just want an answer before I hang this up…”
“Being quiet wasn’t working… sorry y’all.”
King is back in the news this week after social media brought back an old article surfaced that said he was cut by Gruden because of his personality, not his punting.
On Wednesday, TMZ Sports reached out to the former NFL punter after Gruden stepped down from his position after more emails came out showing his terrible behavior from 2011 to 2018.

“The 32-year-old is now speculating if there was a deeper reason behind the move in light of Gruden’s misogynistic, racist and homophobic emails being leaked this week … joining “TMZ Live” to share his reaction to the bombshell scandal.
“Once I found out, it was kinda like, now I really wonder what was the real reason why I did get let go,” King said. “I’m still kinda curious about that, about why I got let go. It’s just been a whole roller coaster full of emotions, period.”
King thinks Gruden created a narrative about him that made him untouchable to other teams. Now that the coach has been exposed, he hoped to get one last chance.
