Mark Sanchez would love to have this moment back.
Sanchez’s budding career as an NFL broadcaster continued on Sunday as he called the Seattle Seahawks-New York Giants game alongside Kevin Kugler.
In the first half, Seahawks kicker Jason Myers hit a 35-yarder through the uprights, but it got tipped as the ball came out wobbly. Sanchez tried to capture the moment by saying it was “Chuck Knoblauch knuckeball.”
MLB fans listening to the broadcast called him immediately because that former player played in the infield and wasn’t a pitcher, although he did have some terrible throws at one point in his career.
Sanchez would later correct himself, saying that he was “an idiot” for mixing up Knoblauch and former Boston Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield.
