Maria Taylor is looking different this year. The NBC Sports reporter resumed her role as Sunday Night Football host for the 2023 campaign.

Taylor has proved herself to be a versatile sportscaster since making her broadcast debut for ESPN in 2013. Before that, she excelled at volleyball, which helped her win a scholarship to the University of Georgia in 2005. Taylor was named a member of the All-SEC volleyball team every year of her college run.
In 2020 she made the surprise switch to NBC after audio leaked out from Rachel Nichols questioning whether she received roles based on her race and not experience.
Taylor remarried in 2021 after a short-lived marriage with first husband Rodney Blackstock. She is now with child and loving her life.
As for the game she was covering last night, the National Football League’s 2023 regular season got underway with a shocking result as the Detroit Lions defeated the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs 21-20 at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium.
Mahomes, playing without star tight end Travis Kelce, finished with 226 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Goff finished with 253 yards and a touchdown.
