Maria Taylor made a huge personal announcement on social media this Saturday.
The NBC sportscaster revealed having welcomed her first child into the world on Christmas Eve following her maternity leave departure.
The child, a boy, is named Roman.
“My baby boy traveled and worked all across the country and even overseas with me,” she wrote on social media. “He let me work all the way up until one week before he made his entrance into the world. And now I know my life will never be the same because I have given birth to my soulmate.”
Taylor experienced many difficulties in her attempts to get pregnant and admitted she came close to giving up on her dream of becoming a mom. However, she says the rocky journey made her baby’s arrival all the more sweeter.
She advised others going through similar struggles that it “will be worth the joy your baby will bring you tomorrow.”

“My journey to motherhood has not been a straight line,” she previously told PEOPLE. “It has been long and difficult, and there were several times I thought I would never become a mom. But when my son was placed on my chest, our hearts were overwhelmed with love and gratitude.”
The NBC NFL studio host announced her pregnancy on Instagram back in July.
Congratulations, Maria!
