ESPN analyst Marcus Spears, also known as “Swagu,” had an awkward television moment on Friday.
The former NFL defensive end was speaking about the San Francisco 49ers during NFL Live on Thursday, following their clinching of the NFC West with a win over the Seattle Seahawks, when he started making a weird hand gesture.
Ryan Clarke, who was part of the discussion, questioned the motion, doing it himself while laughing. Mina Kimes joined in the fun, calling for a GIF of the clip. The entire cast had a laugh about it but Swagu didn’t seem to catch on right away.
Take a look at the questionable motion right below.
In case, somehow, perhaps, by chance, you’re wondering what this is – it’s a gesture used to denote pleasuring oneself (one’s male self).
ESPN has likely had a word with Mr. Spears about this.

The Brock Purdy Train Keeps Rolling
Meanwhile, the 49ers have rolled to another win on the back of another good performance from “Mr. Irrelevant” Brock Purdy. The youngster has gone about the business of informing San Francisco that they don’t need to go out and sign another quarterback for a playoff run.
Ben Roethlisberger recently expressed a desire to come out of retirement and join the 49ers for the postseason, yet he will definitely have to play as a backup to Purdy if that happens.
Purdy suffered an oblique injury during a remarkable performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday but hardly showed it on Thursday night as he threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions, making 17 of his 26 passes in the 21-13 win.
“He’s definitely the most poised rookie I’ve ever had,” Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan said, via ESPN. “He’s been like that since he’s gotten here. … Even him being unsure of whether he’d be able to go or not, I think that was uneasy for him because he didn’t know what to expect until he got in the game.
“Under the circumstances, we didn’t have any other options or choice. [We were] going to see how long he could last and ready to go with Josh. But he got comfortable and got better as the game went. It was pretty unbelievable.”
