The Las Vegas Raiders have signed a three-time Pro Bowl cornerback to upgrade their secondary.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapport, the Raiders have signed veteran Marcus Peters to a one-year contract following a strong workout for the AFC West club.
Peters had been a member of the Baltimore Ravens’ roster since 2019, but he went unsigned over the first four months of 2023 NFL free agency. But finally, the 2015 Defensive Rookie of the Year finally has a new team as the preseason draws closer.
One of the NFL’s top cornerbacks in the back half of the 2010s decade, Peters earned First-Team All-Pro nods in 2016 and 2019. The 30-year-old helped the Los Angeles Rams reach Super Bowl 53 in the 2018 season, where they fell to the New England Patriots.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ 2015 first-round pick spent three seasons with the club before he was traded to the Rams in 2018. After one and a half seasons there, Peters was traded to Baltimore.

Among active NFL players, only Patrick Peterson and Harrison Smith (34 apiece) have more career interceptions than Peters (32). The ball-hawking corner can only help a Raiders secondary that has the misfortunes of facing Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert a combined four times each year.
Peters has suited up for 104 games in his career; he missed the entire 2021 season recovering from a torn ACL. For his career, he has 32 interceptions, 92 pass defenses and 11 forced fumbles.
