The New Orleans Saints are off to a 2-0 start but will not be without a player on the team for several games.
Marcus Maye of the New Orleans Saints has been suspended without pay for the next three games for violating the NFL Policy on Substances of Abuse.
He will be eligible to return to the Saints’ active roster on Monday, Oct. 9, following the team’s Week 5 game at New England.
The 29-year-old is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2017. The Saints signed Maye to a three-year, $28.5 million deal in 2022.
Last season, he appeared in 10 games for the Saints and recorded 60 total tackles, one forced fumble and two pass deflections.
The Saints will be without him for games against the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New England Patriots.

For now, he is suspended, unless Maye decides he wants to appeal the ruling. Hopefully, his departure from the team doesn’t hurt the team that is trying to turn things around with new quarterback Derek Carr. The Saints are coming off a win on Monday Night against the Carolina Panthers.
