Ryan Tannehill caused a ton of controversy over his comments about Malik Willis after the Titans drafted him.
In a recent interview, Willis brushed off the notion that there’s any bad blood between him and Tannehill. He said that there was “never anything negative” and that he and Tannehill are on good terms.
“We chopped it up. It was never anything negative,” Willis said, via NBC Sports. “Ryan is a good dude… Everything is cool, man.”
Tannehill spoke with reporters four days after Tennessee selected Willis with a Round 3 pick and stated he was not there to mentor him as they are in competition with each other.
“We’re competing against each other, we’re watching the same tape, we’re doing the same drills,” Tannehill said. “I don’t think it’s my job to mentor him, but if he learns from me along the way, then that’s a great thing.”
The 33-year-old Tannehill won Comeback Player of the Year honors that season and has helped lead Tennessee to three straight playoff appearances and two consecutive AFC South titles.
