If you need something to brighten your day, EA Sports’ “version” of New England Patriots head coach of Bill Belichick for “Madden NFL 24”. should do the trick.
As many fans know, EA Sports cannot use Belichick’s likeness for their video games. This is because EA Sports has a deal with the National Football League Coaches Association (NFCLA) which allows them to use coaches’ likenesses. However, Belichick is the only active NFL coach who isn’t part of the NFLCA.
Because they can’t use Belichick, EA Sports listed a man named “Peter Gaffney” as the Patriots’ head coach for “Madden NFL 24.” And as you can see below, this man does not resemble the six-time Super Bowl winning head coach in the slightest.

Yeah, there is absolutely zero resemblance between Gaffney and Belichick here. But hey, the bottom line is that EA Sports followed the rules by not using Belichick’s name or likeness, so respect to them.

The 71-year-old Belichick is entering his 24th season as head coach of the Patriots. He owns a 262-108-0 record and has led the team to nine AFC Championship banners and six Super Bowl victories.
New England will open up their 2023 regular season with a home contest against the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 10.
