NFL fans were saying the same thing after a video of New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones working on a new no-look pass went viral.
It’s widely expected that the Patriots will trade or cut Jones, who lost his starting job to backup Bailey Zappe late last year. With the No. 3 pick in this year’s draft, New England is in position to draft one of the top three QB prospect in USC’s Caleb Williams, LSU’s Jayden Daniels and North Carolina’s Drake Maye.
The QB Club 12 Instagram page shared several videos of Jones working out. One such video showed Jones working on the crafty no-look pass that has been made famous by Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes:
Unfortunately for Jones, social media didn’t seem awfully impressed. They took a different direction and ultimately couldn’t help but make some jokes:

Say what you want about Jones, but you can’t question his work ethic. Just because he’s likely done in New England, it hasn’t given Jones an excuse to rest up ahead of free agency.
Jones can also just look at Ryan Tannehill (Tennessee Titans), Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings) and Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) as recent examples of QBs who hit their ceilings after switching teams.
The Alabama product left a lot to be desired with his play in 2022 and 2023, but we are also talking about a guy who went to the Pro Bowl as a rookie after leading New England to 10 wins and a playoff appearance.
Some team out there will take a chance on the 25-year-old Jones this offseason. The only question, of course, is who.
