Mac Jones will forever have fun in the afterlife.
Dale Mooney, a 53-year-old father of two, died Sept. 17 at Gillette Stadium after he got into a fight with Miami Dolphins fans. It was a tragic event that has so far not led to any arrests or charges of anybody involved.
Mooney collapsed and later died after being punched in the head during a caught-on-camera melee at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The New England Patriots season ticket holder was decked out in a jersey for the team’s 25-year-old quarterback during a viewing in his hometown on Monday, the Messenger reported. It was not clear if it was the same Jones shirt Mooney wore at his final game.
A Patriots flag also flew above the funeral home in honor of the longtime ticket-holder.
He reportedly was cremated during a private ceremony Tuesday.

In the aftermath of his death, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office said that Mooney did not suffer a “traumatic injury” but instead had a “medical issue.” They did not initially find evidence of any “traumatic injury” caused by punches thrown during the alleged altercation.
“Cause and manner of death remain undetermined pending further testing,” The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office said last week in a statement.
Relatives of Mooney set up a GoFundMe page to offer financial support for his family and Dolphins player Salvon Ahmed promoted it online.
The Patriots’ only statement about Mooney’s death was provided last Wednesday.
“We are heartbroken to learn of the tragic passing of Dale Mooney, a lifelong Patriots fan and 30-year season ticket member, who died while attending last Sunday night’s Patriots game,” the statement read. “We continue to work with local authorities to assist them with their ongoing investigation. We extend our sincerest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Dale’s family and all those who are mourning his loss.”
Jones is in his third year with the Patriots. He has completed 81 of 125 passes for 748 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions through three starts this season.
The Patriots are currently 1-2 and tied for last place in the AFC East.
