Kenneth Gainwell’s 35-yard “garbage time” touchdown for the Philadelphia Eagles netted a lucky bettor a beautiful one-night payday.
A fan wagered $25 on Gainwell, quarterback Jalen Hurts, tight end Dallas Goedert and running back Boston Scott of the Eagles to each score a touchdown in Saturday’s Divisional Round tilt against the New York Giants. If that happened, the lucky bettor would take home a whopping $25,025.
Scott’s 35-yard touchdown run after the two-minute warning padded the Eagles’ lead and won the lucky bettor the $25,025 payout. You can see a screenshot of the wager below, courtesy of Bleacher Report betting.
Goedert opened the scoring when he caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Hurts. Scott scored on a three-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to help the Eagles increase their lead to 21-0, and Hurts added a five-yard rushing score late in the half to essentially put the game out of reach.
With the victory, the Eagles advance to their first NFC Championship Game since the 2017 season, where they went on to win the Super Bowl. Philly will host the winner of the Dallas Cowboys-San Francisco 49ers Sunday night tilt at Levi’s Stadium.
