The safe thing that you could do right now is to steer clear of any New Orleans Saints fans, because they aren’t going to be happy for quite some time.
The Saints appeared on the verge of clinching a trip to the Super Bowl when Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman demolished WR Tommyleee Lewis with under two minutes left in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.
That was until not a single ref on the field threw a flag for a blatant pass interference, which forced New Orleans to kick a field goal and giving the Rams an opportunity to tie the game late in regulation and win in OT.
A highway sign above the Pontchartrain Causeway outside of New Orleans perfectly described how all Saints fans felt after losing in such a heartbreaking way:
Just absolutely gut-wrenching for the Saints who have lost in the playoffs two straight years that ended their hopes of getting back into the Super Bowl.
