Louis Nix was reported missing on a Wednesday, and his car would be found three days later in a pond in Jacksonville.
We are now getting more details into the days before his death. The missing person’s report show that it was his girlfriend that last spoke to him as she explained the former NFL defensive lineman was supposed to be on his way to her home. Nix never showed up.
She also added that another man was present in the vehicle and that Nix sounded intoxicated.
Stephanie Wingfield, Nix’s mother, spoke to Action News and gave her reaction to finding out his car was found in a pond.
”Before they could get anything out, ‘I’m sorry,’ I just started screaming, ‘No, no, no, no, no, no!’” Wingfield recalled.

”God took him after he got him,” Wingfield said. “I don’t understand it, but at least he left here with God in his life.”
Nix was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and also spent time with Washington and the Jaguars, following a standout career with Notre Dame.
He also played four games for the Giants in 2015.
