The Los Angeles Rams are signing a Super Bowl Champion and former Pro Bowl quarterback to play backup to Matthew Stafford.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who cites sources, the Rams are bringing in former Eagles, Colts, and Commanders signal-caller Carson Wentz.
The team has also cut Dresser Wnn in a move directly resulting from the signing. And, though they do not believe that Stafford’s thumb injury will keep him out very long, they do appreciate that the backup position is not one they can consider solid.
Wentz has been available since he was cut by the Commanders during the offseason and it will be interesting to see what he can offer the Rams.
He appeared in eight games for Washington last season, throwing for 1,775 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions on 62.3 percent passing.
