It appears as though the Los Angeles Rams are indeed planning to trade away one of their core players this offseason.
All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been the subject of trade rumors in recent weeks. Despite his highly successful four-year run in La La Land, the Rams are apparently looking to move on from the All-Pro cornerback.
According to a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Los Angeles has held “trade talks” about Ramsey. Sources also informed Pelissero that a Ramsey trade is likely to be completed “in coming weeks.”
The Rams acquired the superstar corner from the Jacksonville Jaguars in a trade during the early stages of the 2019 season. Ramsey signed a lucrative five-year contract extension worth $20 million in 2020, and he’s earned every penny of that deal to date.
Widely regarded as the NFL’s best cornerback, Ramsey led the Rams to a Super Bowl 56 championship last season. In four seasons with the Rams (57 total games), the 28-year-old has recorded 10 interceptions and 47 pass defenses.
