The National Football League is going through some public relations nightmare and it all seemed to happen on one day.
Aside from the biggest news of the day regarding the alleged child abuse by Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill, there is another allegation being thrown around towards a member of the Rams.
It’s not a player, but rather a coach.
LA Rams strength and conditioning coach Ted Rath went viral a few months ago when his unusual task he has to perform on game-days was revealed. It included him following head coach Sean McVay around on the sidelines and make sure McVay doesn’t wander into the path of any referees on the Rams’ sideline.
He was the ‘get back’ coach.
On Friday, he might end up without any job when he was placed on a leave of absence after being arrested and charged with three misdemeanor counts of sexual battery.

Rath was arrested and released on bail Jan. 15th, some two weeks before the Rams would go on to defeat New Orleans in the NFC championship game.
Rath didn’t travel with the team to New Orleans or to the Super Bowl. It was explained at the time that he was recovering from an injury.
In a team statement issued Friday, the Rams said they “are aware of the charges filed against Ted Rath. We take these allegations very seriously. Once the charges were filed, we decided Ted would take a leave of absence from the team as this matter works its way through the justice system.”
Rath’s attorney, Vicki Podberesky, pleaded not guilty on his behalf on Friday:
“Mr. Rath takes these allegations very seriously,” Podberesky said in a statement issued to The Associated Press. “Ted is a man who has led a law-abiding life. He is a husband, a father and a dedicated family man. He has the utmost respect for women and would never intentionally act in a manner that was demeaning or otherwise inappropriate. We intend to defend this matter to the fullest extent possible in a court of law, and we believe that after there has been a full vetting of the facts of this case Mr. Rath will be shown to be not guilty of these charges.”
