Over the weekend, Patrick Mahomes was caught on a hot mic trash-talking Justin Herbert while responding to a fan at a charity golf tournament.
It took place during the final round at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tourney in Nevada. As Mahomes made his way down the fairway, one spectator was heard yelling, “Watch out for Justin Herbert next year,” to which the Chiefs quarterback replied, “I’ll see it when I believe it.”
Well, you could argue that Mahomes has already seen it, as Herbert lit up the Chiefs’ secondary not once, but twice during his rookie season in 2020. And in case Patty forgot about it, the Los Angeles Chargers’ Twitter account was kind enough to remind him with this highlight reel from their two meetings.
Low blow with the Mr. Krabs jab!
For those keeping track at home, Herbert was 1-1 against the Chiefs last season with 613 yards, four touchdown passes, one interception, and two rushing touchdowns. But it’s Patrick Mahomes who has a Super Bowl and an MVP award on his resume.
