One Chargers player is headed to the unemployment line right along with former head coach Brandon Staley.
The Chargers waived defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day on Friday, the team announced. The 14-game starter for Los Angeles this season was a team captain.
Prior to the 2022 season, Joseph-Day inked a 3-year, $24 million contract with Los Angeles to defect from the Rams, where he had played under Brandon Staley.
Staley was given his walking papers last Friday following a 63-21 loss to the Raiders on Thursday Night Football.
In 30 games with the Chargers, Joseph-Day had 87 total tackles, including five sacks and twelve tackles for loss.

Within the last week, four members of the Chargers have been sent packing, as Staley and general manager Tom Telesco were fired last Friday, with defensive line coach Jay Rodgers also let go on Saturday.
Joseph-Day could very well see himself on a playoff team.
