Colin Kaepernick, who hasn’t played in an NFL game since Jan. 1, 2017, has been posting workout videos and doing so alongside some current stars in the league in yet another effort to get back into the National Football League.
Quincy Avery has worked with quite a few talented signal callers during his time as a private quarterbacks coach and that list includes the likes of Deshaun Watson, Dwayne Haskins, Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, and Trey Lance.
Just last week, the 35-year-old coach added Colin Kaepernick to his growing list and had something very important to state about that workout.
“Had the opportunity to hit the field with @Kaepernick7 I also get the opportunity to work with a ton of NFL quarterbacks and with his talent he should have him on an NFL roster,” he wrote on Twitter.
Kaepernick has insisted he hasn’t lost a beat even though he’s 34 years old and hasn’t played in the NFL since the 2016 season. He just needs a chance.
“Still waiting for that chance. Still hopeful,” he said, via The Seattle Times. “There’s been a lot of conversation around it. Again, we’ve had conversations with Pete and John previously. As Pete mentioned, we have spoken recently and (I’m) still hoping that door is open and get a chance to walk through it.”
“The best way to tell is to bring me in for a workout,” he said. “We have no expectations of what teams will do. But we just want the opportunity to walk in the door and show them what I can do, and I think my talent, my skill set, will speak for itself.”

The Seahawks appear to be a potential landing spot for Kaepernick given the franchise’s flirtation with the quarterback in the past and their trade of Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
The former quarterback started a firestorm in the NFL during the 2016 season when he protested during the national anthem. He has never stepped back on the field since that season ended.
