Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has revealed having played through some difficulty when he helped his team to a win over the Las Vegas Raiders last Monday.
St. Brown was listed as having an illness before the game and has since revealed he had blisters on his feet, hands, and inside of his mouth on the night and felt like he was running on needles.
“It was tough,” he said, per ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I feel like I was running on needles. Catching the ball hurt a lot.”
Sounds like a painful ordeal, but St. Brown still managed to lead the Lions to a win, making six receptions for a total of 108 yards, including a 44-yard catch that resulted in a field goal in the second quarter.
St. Brown has made 57 catches for 667 yards and three touchdowns since the start of the season and is one of the reasons the Lions have been one of the best teams in the league in 2023 while leading the NFC North with a 62- record.
Fortunately for him, the Lions had a bye week after the win over Vegas, hopefully giving him enough time to heal before they face the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend.
