Everyone is pulling for injured Detroit Lions star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson after he broke his leg last Sunday during a win against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Detroit Lions got an update on the health of their star defensive lineman this week.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Saturday that sources close to Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson believe he will have a “realistic chance” to return for the Super Bowl should the team advance that far into the postseason.
One source even reportedly believes that it “would be more surprising if he did not make it back for a potential Super Bowl appearance than if he did.”
As of now, the 24-year-old Pro Bowler is on the road to recovery as he recovers from that fractured left tibia and fibula that put an end to his promising regular season.
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters that they anticipate a four- to six-month recovery for Aidan Hutchinson, and he didn’t rule out the possibility of him returning later on in the season.
“I would never count Hutch out, ever,” Campbell said. “So, probably a long road, but I would never count him out, and I would say if anybody can make it back, it’d be him.”

Detroit Lions Looking For Replacement After Losing Aidan Hutchinson
The Detroit Lions are in the market for a solid edge rusher to replace the injured Aidan Hutchinson until he’s better.
Head coach Dan Campbell didn’t rule out the possibility of looking for somebody to replace him.
“Look, we’re open to anything,” Campbell said via Kevin Patra of NFL.com. “(General manager) Brad (Holmes) has been working through it. We are not going to be in a hurry. Brad is doing his homework. The crew is doing their homework. They’re looking at everything. But we’re not going to just make a move to make it. It’s got to be right. It’s got to be the right guy, and the pieces have to fall in place.”
Detroit will get its first look at its defense without Hutchinson in Week 7 when it travels to face the Minnesota Vikings on the road.
