Detroit Lions defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson’s career got off to a slow start as he managed just one tackle in a 38-35 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in week one. Things changed drastically in week two as the second overall pick in this year’s draft recorded three sacks, helping the Lions earn their first victory of the season with a 36-27 win over the Washington Commanders.
Before the game, Hutchinson, who is from Michigan, posted a video dedicating his upcoming performance to a local 5-year-old boy named Hudson Gazsi, who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.
With the huge performance on Sunday, Hutchinson became the fourth-youngest player in NFL history to record at least three sacks in a single game. He is also just the third rookie to be drafted in the top ten and record three-plus sacks within his first two career games.
It looks like the Lions drafted a gem, as Aidan Hutchinson appears to be a stud on the field as well as a great person off the field. Needless to say, the Lions fan base could not be more thrilled with the early results.

With Sunday’s win, the Lions improve to 1-1 on the season. They have now scored a total of 71 points through their first two games, which is tied with the Chiefs for the most in the league after Sunday.
Up next, they’ll travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings and their high-flying offense in what should be a very entertaining shootout. The last time these two teams played, the Lions pulled off an epic 29-27 come-from-behind victory to earn their first win of the season in week 13.
