After officially joining the Jets on March 15 of 2019, Le’Veon Bell credited Jamal Adams as playing a role in getting him to New York, per the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta:
“Jamal did his thing recruiting. He was on my line constantly … texting me, tweeting me, … Instagram … everything. He was doing everything he could to get me here. I respect everything from a guy with that talent. He’s so young. For him to reach out to me, it meant everything in the world to me … that somebody wanted me that much … a team wanted me that much.
“So, I’m glad to be here. He’s definitely a huge part. He made it happen. You got to give him a lot of credit.”
A little over a year and now Adams is off the team after he forced his way into a trade that went down on Saturday. Adams is now a member of the Seattle Seahawks as the Jets will receive safety Bradley McDougald, a first-round pick and third-round pick in 2021 and a first-round pick in 2022 in exchange for him.
While most fans in New York are genuinely pleased with the package the team received in return for Adams, it appears Le’Veon Bell is frustrated with the way his former teammate handled this entire situation.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “ppl do all the hootin & hollerin to get you brought in, just to leave…lol like people weird yooo, the internet got these dudes doin whatever for attention, even when they tell you sh*t they don’t believe themselves.”

When it was suggested Bell was mad, he responded: “I’m not mad, i’m motivated.”
Adams had openly campaigned to get moved after not getting the contract extension he desired, ripping coach Adam Gase and general manager Joe Douglas, similar to what Bell did with the Steelers before sitting out the entire 2018 season and then signing with the Jets.
