Le’Veon Bell missed Sunday’s Jets game against the Miami Dolphins because of an illness. That is what was told to the public, but according to the New York Post, the Jets running back was actually spotted bowling at a local New Jersey bowling alley Saturday night until the establishment closed.
Bell was reportedly at Boonton Lanes from around 10:30 p.m. until nearly 1 a.m.
“Bell’s party had alcohol on its table, but it was unclear if Bell himself was drinking. An eyewitness said Bell seemed to be having a good time bowling and had a driver outside keeping a white Mercedes Benz warm for him.”
Bell was not seen at MetLife Stadium on Sunday when the Jets beat the Dolphins 22–21.
Bell is winding down a disappointing debut campaign in New York, as he is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry, rushing for 589 yards and three touchdowns in a season where he signed to a four-year, $52.5 million contract with $27 million guaranteed in March.
He also has 55 catches for 403 yards and one touchdown, but has not rushed for more than 70 yards in a game this season.
