Former NFL superstar running back Le’Veon Bell wants to make a return to the gridiron, but only on one specific condition…
That it be with the one NFL team that drafted Bell and turned him into a superstar a decade ago.
In a series of Snapchat videos that have gone viral (h/t ESPN), the soon-to-be 32-year-old expressed a desire to play football again. And he would only do so for his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers:
“And I’m gonna be honest with myself, I got to go out there and be like, I’m going to put my foot in the ground. Do I feel it? Am I hurting? Can I go out there and really play again? And bro, I’m telling you all right now when I go out there and train in March and if I hit April and I make this decision to come back to play in the NFL again, mark my words down — I will be better than I ever was.
And I will only come back for that one team. You all know who it is. I don’t have to say no team. You all know who it is.”
Bell better dream on, because the Steelers certainly aren’t going to want to bring him back six years after he played his final snap for them. They already have two standout running backs in Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren, who both posted over 1,000 yards of offense in 2023.

In the 2018 offseason, Bell rejected a five-year extension from the Steelers worth $70 million. He decided to sit out the entire year as a result, and his career ultimately paid the price for the ridiculous decision.
The New York Jets would sign Bell to a four-year deal worth $52.5 million in 2019 free agency. He was released early in the 2020 season and picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs, but even Andy Reid and company couldn’t help Bell get his career back on track.
Bell split the 2021 season with the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, tallying 101 rushing yards in eight games.
