Le’Veon Bell hasn’t played a competitive down of football since he laced up his shoes for a playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in January 2018.
The disgruntled running back refused to show up or suit up for the Pittsburgh Steelers amid a contract dispute and refused to play out a second straight year under the terms of the franchise tag.
Bell is now on the New York Jets and is ready to show the Pittsburgh that they really screwed up.
“It didn’t work out in Pittsburgh. I’m out of Pittsburgh. And now I’m in a new city, a new team, and a lot of people haven’t even given us a chance cause they don’t like our roster,” Bell said, via USA Today. “They think we don’t have the talent. I’m thinking I’m going to show everybody. I’m going to show people that, look, Pittsburgh had something special and they let it go. That’s what I’m going to go out there and do.”
There will be many eyes on Bell this season, because many expect him to not be the same tailback he was as a member of the Steelers.
One things for sure is, he is certainly well rested after taking a year off.
