When Antonio Brown got traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Oakland Raiders, most people thought that AB would finally put all the controversy he had going on with his past team behind him for good and just ball out.
That hasn’t exactly happened because Brown has been in the news cycle for weeks on end because of his frostbitten feet, not practicing with the team mainly because he wants to wear a helmet he has been rocking since he came into the league. He even went as far as to threaten to retire from the game if he didn’t get his way. As of right now, the all-pro is waiting on another ruling from his second helmet grievance against the NFL.
Le’Veon Bell, who used to be teammates with Brown on the Steelers, decided to speak up on the topic, and although he understands Brown’s frustration, he believes he should follow league rules.
From Newsday:
“As a skill player, it’s kind of hard to change your helmet, especially when you’ve been playing so long with it,” Bell told Newsday. “I understand where he’s coming from, but at the same time, it’s a rule, so you have to change the helmet.
“Him fighting for it, him not showing up for practice,” Bell said, “I don’t really agree with that.”
“I changed my helmet my second year [with the Steelers], and I’ve been playing with a certain helmet my whole career It was hard to do, but I knew this was coming eventually, so I might as well change my helmet now.”

Brown is currently practicing with a new helmet, but he is not happy about it one bit. He wants to wear a Schutt AiR Advantage helmet, but it has to be made in the last 10 years and certified by the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment.
Unfortunately, the one he found failed in testing.
