Eli Apple has long been a target for jokes on NFL Twitter because of his trash-talking and his inability to back it up on the field.
On Sunday night, Eli Apple found himself trending on Twitter after Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Demarcus Robinson toasted him for a 41-yard touchdown.
Naturally, people on Twitter started mocking and making fun of Eli Apple. One of them just happened to be a former player. Former NFL player LeSean McCoy took to Twitter and pondered why Apple was even still in the league with his bad play.
Apple has certain strengths in his game, and like most players, have weaknesses. The Bengals clearly think he’s good enough to start for them. Despite getting burnt, the Bengals were able to walk away with a win thanks to Sam Hubbard’s heroics.
Now, they head back to Buffalo to face the Bills.
