San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo found his next home after signing a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Garoppolo agreed to a three-year, $67.5 million deal, including $34 million guaranteed.
He will be reunited with Raiders coach Josh McDaniels, who served as the Patriots’ offensive coordinator during Garoppolo’s three years in New England.
Not everybody was excited about the move after the team decided to move on from Derek Carr.
On FS1’s Speak, former running back LeSean McCoy made it clear that Garoppolo isn’t an upgrade over Carr.
McCoy called Carr a “better quarterback who actually throws the ball.” He added Jimmy G only was successful because of the 49ers’ defense.
McCoy also added how Davante Adams will take the move, as he joined and signed an extension with the Raiders to play alongside his former college teammate. If the team is somehow worse next year, you can expect things to get really tight after the season.

The Raiders released longtime starter Derek Carr last month.
Garoppolo spent the past five-plus seasons with the 49ers after they traded for him with the Patriots. He would lead the Niners to five straight wins to close that season, earning him a five-year, $137.5 million deal that, at the time, made him the highest-paid player in the league.
His best season was in 2019 in which the Niners went to Super Bowl LIV. His lowest moments were because he constantly stayed injured.
Garoppolo was able to show his worth last year after San Francisco starter Trey Lance suffered a broken right ankle in Week 2. He was great before breaking his left foot on Dec. 4 against the Miami Dolphins.
In his time in San Francisco, Garoppolo threw for 13,599 yards and 82 touchdowns with 42 interceptions.
