Ryan Tannehill’s recent comments regarding the Titans’ decision to draft Malik Willis have not sat well with a ton of people around the league. The comments come off as insanely selfish for a guy who has never caused this type of controversy in his career.
After Tannehill said publicly it wasn’t his job to mentor the rookie quarterback, many have come out to criticize him for putting himself before the team.
LeSean McCoy gave his two cents on the situation and he destroyed him with what he had to say.
The Titans used a third-round pick on QB Malik Willis, and he seemed rather salty that he wasn’t informed beforehand about the pick. The veteran QB then said it wasn’t his job to mentor Willis, before claiming he texted the rookie on draft night to welcome him to the team.
Willis was a projected first-round pick, but he fell right into their lap in the third round. Kenny Pickett ended up getting drafted in the first round, and no quarterback was taken until the Titans grabbed Willis in Round 3.
The 2022 season is a big one for Tannehill as he likely expects the team to move on from him after this year.
