There was one point where LeSean McCoy might’ve been the most hated person in the entire country.
McCoy spoiled the ending of Avengers: Endgame on Twitter, a moment that still haunts the six-time Pro Bowler. The former all-pro running back who is now working as an analyst for Fox Sports says that bad decision cost him an endorsement deal a few years ago.
McCoy revealed this information on a recent episode of the Pardon My Take podcast.
McCoy claims he was moments from signing paperwork when a top executive called down and shut the deal off.
“Somebody must have called down from the high exec, Shady McCoy? No, no, no,” he said. “He spoiled Endgame. I was so mad. That’s a true story though.”
“A lot of grown-ups like green monsters running around, I didn’t know,” McCoy said. “I thought it was like, a regular Spider-Man. I know now though!”
As we all know now, Tony Stark dies at the end of Avengers: Endgame. McCoy decided to let everyone know on April 26, 2019, which was the day the movie was released in theaters around the world.

The pushback against him at the time included one fan even starting a petition to get the Buffalo Bills to terminate his contract. The Bills would release McCoy in August as part of the final roster cutdowns. That move was unlikely to do with the movie spoiler.
He wound up getting the last laugh by winning a Super Bowl as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
McCoy, six-time Pro Bowl running back, announced NFL retirement after 12 seasons in 2021.
