Free agent running back Leonard Fournette was lucky to avoid serious injury or worse after his SUV caught fire while he was driving along a highway on Tuesday.
The Super Bowl winner was able to pull over and exit the burning vehicle. And, based on the damage we’ve seen in the video he posted to his Instagram account detailing the incident, it could have been a whole lot worse.
“Man it was one of those days today, but I would like thank God, my car caught on fire while I was driving, But I’am still blessed,” he wrote in an IG post.
A few more photos have popped up online showing the extent of the damage.
Fournette last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he helped win a Super Bowl in 2020. The former LSU RB was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017 and was waived three years later. He signed a one-year deal with the Bucs following his departure from Jacksonville.

The 28-year-old signed a one-year extension in 2021 and would put pen to paper on a three-year deal in 2022 but was released by the team in March after posting 668 rushing yards and 523 receiving yards.
He is currently looking for a new team, but that will be the least of his worries after escaping a burning vehicle this week.
