A favorite has already emerged as a potential replacement for Brandon Staley following the Chargers’ coaching decision on Friday.
The team has fired the head coach on the heels of their embarrassing 63-21 Thursday night blowout loss to the Raiders, also getting rid of general manager Tom Telesco.

The Patriots have had a terrible 2023 under Belichick and have gone several steps back since Tom Brady left. It’s been reported that owner Robert Kraft has decided to part ways with his head coach once the season ends. And, given his CV, despite recent events, he will have plenty of suitors next year.
As for Staley, the 41-year-old leaves Los Angeles with a 24-25 record and one playoff appearance. The Chargers are now 5-9 for the season and it doesn’t appear that they were able to recover from their wild-card loss to the Jaguars after blowing a 27-0 halftime lead to lose 31-30 last season.

Staley will not get a chance to make up for the humiliation as he has been handed his marching orders. The Chargers hadn’t named an interim coach at the time of writing.
