Zach Wilson enjoyed the best game of his young NFL career on Sunday night.
It was the sort of display the Jets wanted to see out of him after they drafted him. However, when pressure mounted late in the game, Wilson faltered. The third-year hurler had the ball jarred loose just as Gang Green mounted a late charge.
The former BYU quarterback threw for 245 yards and two scores in New York’s 23-20 loss to Kansas City, but he was down on himself after the game.
LeBron James offered support to Zach Wilson on Monday after the Jets quarterback nearly out-dueled Patrick Mahomes in a loss to the Chiefs on “Sunday Night Football.”
“Helluva game kid!” James wrote over a clip from the NBC broadcast that featured Wilson speaking with backup quarterback Tim Boyle.
“You win as a team and lose as well as a team! 1 play doesn’t define the whole game! Keep ya head up high and keep pushing forward!! If it was easy everyone would do it!”

Wilson looked somber while talking to Boyle on the sidelines as he stated, “I lost the game,” Wilson said. “It’s my fault, bro.”
Despite the loss, Wilson showed growth in his performance against the Chiefs. The third-year quarterback recorded his first career game with two touchdown passes and zero interceptions.
He can surely grow from this and the Jets could become a playoff team if he does in the next games what he did against the defending champs.
