LeBron James has Teddy Bridgewater’s back.
On Tuesday, the Miami Dolphins backup quarterback took to Instagram to discourage kids from admiring players who portray a “tough guy image” or “pretend” to be “gangsta” for social media.
“Tired of seeing football players portray this tough guy image or pretend he’s gangsta,” Bridgewater said. “You went to school, attended those classes, and some even got their college degree. Now you might have 1.5% of professional football players that’s on that but the remaining 98.5% are only ‘football tough.’
“So, don’t wait till you inherit this legal money from the league to decide you want to be tough or portray a ‘street image’ cause it’s kids that’s looking up to everything we do. Plus it’s someone sitting in a cell or posted in the hood who might’ve been just as hood as you that would advise you otherwise.”
In response, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar tweeted his support of Bridgewater’s message:
“T. Bridgewater! All FACTS,” James tweeted.

“I still keep the same 3 dudes around me,” Bridgewater added in his post. “My people accept me for making all the right decisions and not falling victim or being tricked by the false image you see on IG from a lot of ball players.
“Choose your path. Can’t do both though.”
This upcoming season will be Bridgewater’s fifth career NFL team and fourth in four seasons. He began his career in Minnesota before heading to the New Orleans Saints in 2018 to back up Drew Brees. After two seasons behind Brees, Bridgewater was the starting QB for the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and starter for the Denver Broncos in 2021.
Bridgewater had 3,052 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, and seven interceptions across 14 starts for the Broncos last season.
