The Baltimore Ravens have seen quarterback Lamar Jackson grow and flourish ever since he was selected with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Despite him being dynamic as a QB and even winning an MVP, not everybody is sold on him behind center.
Jackson gets criticized to an outrageous extent on a daily basis. On Monday, Mike Sando of The Athletic put out an article placing the NFL’s quarterbacks into tiers. For Jackson, one anonymous current NFL defensive coordinator offered a harsh opinion on the quarterback, saying he’ll never be “a one” at the position.
LeBron James caught wind of those comments and blasted that coordinator on Instagram.
“I can’t believe this is being said still right now,” NFL Network’s Rich Eisen said of the notion that Jackson can’t win with his arm. “Are there people still thinking that he can’t throw? Maybe he’s not as consistent a thrower as a Tier 1 quarterback, but what does that mean that he’s more of a football player. Is that your way of saying he’s a running back? What the ‘f’ does that mean? So you have to take some of this stuff with a grain of salt.”

Since his rookie year, Jackson has thrown for 8,766 yards, 78 passing touchdowns, and 28 interceptions in 42 games. However, he is 1-3 in four postseason games, with only three passing touchdowns and five interceptions – but he has made the postseason in all three of his fully-healthy seasons.
Jackson continues to be punished for his unique skill set and held to an unfair standard. All he does is goes out and win games.
