Brock Purdy had the type of playoff debut that he probably dreamed about for years.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback threw for 332 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. It was the type of performance that had everyone talking…
Even LeBron James!
LeBron must have been watching that Niners-Seahawks Wild Card game, because after watching Purdy’s dominant effort, he decided to show the seventh-round rookie some love on Twitter.
The win was Purdy’s seventh in a row since taking over for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo during a December game against the Miami Dolphins. There were some questions regarding whether he’d be able to handle the pressure of playoff football, but he seems to have silenced the doubters with his impressive debut.
Could this year’s “Mr. Irrelevant” end up being the most relevant player of the season? Three more wins would do it. Next up, Purdy and the Niners will get either the Vikings, Cowboys or Buccaneers at home.
