After an extended break from training camp, fans started a rumor that Tom Brady was filming ‘The Masked Singer.’
Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles announced Brady’s break on August 11th. “Tom has been excused today. He’ll be taking—he’ll be back somewhere around after Tennessee,” he said referring to the second preseason game on August 20, “He’s going to deal with some personal things.” After the announcement, many fans speculated what was wrong with the seven-time SuperBowl champion.
“This is something we talked about before training camp started,” the Buccaneers coach confirmed that nothing was wrong with Brady. “We allotted this time because he wanted to get in and get chemistry with the guys and go through two weeks of training camp, knowing he wasn’t going to play the first two games. He didn’t want to take away reps from Blaine [Gabbert] and Kyle [Trask] as well as ‘Griff’ [Ryan Griffin] as far as going into these next two games. And it’s something he needs to handle.”
A recent clip from the show reveals that competition judge Ken Jeong suspected Brady might be “the masked singer.”
“He just got fined for not showing up to training camp because he is here on ‘The Masked Singer,’” Jeong said, via TMZ Sports. “This is seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady!”
It is not immediately clear who the contestant actually is. Until it is revealed, the rumors will continue that it is Brady.

On Monday, the iconic quarterback acknowledged the theory in a post on Twitter.
“Wasn’t on the Masked Singer last week. Was wearing a mask though,” he commented alongside a video ad for his apparel brand, Brady.
