The NFL made millions in various fines this season, but what was possibly their most ridiculous one has been rescinded.
New York Jets running back Breece Hall was fined $43,709 for lowering his helmet to accept a challenge during a game against the Atlanta Falcons in December. According to Hall, he didn’t have much of a choice as he needed to protect his knees, especially as he returned from an ACL tear in his rookie season.
The league has opted to rescind the fine following an appeal from the running back.
“Upon appeal, #Jets RB Breece Hall’s $43,709 fine has been rescinded for this play last month, per source,” Tom Pelissero reported over the weekend.

The league took its time with that one, but Breece should appreciate it nonetheless.
