Over the past 20 years or so, many have compared some of the league’s best players from today’s era to former New York Giants defensive great and Hall of Famer, Lawrence Taylor.
We are now at that moment once again.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick surely thinks Taylor is the greatest defensive player in NFL history.
“His dominance. The greatness of Lawrence Taylor. He’s bigger, stronger, faster, more explosive. Even though he didn’t really know what he was doing, instinctively as a football player, he’s at the very top of the list,” Belichick said.
However, Aaron Donald is starting to make a case fro himself and that topic ended up online.
This week, Taylor responded to a tweet when Pro Football Focus asked if Aaron Donald was the defensive G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time.)

Donald is an unbelievable talent and surely he has been the best player in the league for the last several years. However, he still has a long way to go before he can even be considered to be on Lawrence’s level, let alone passing him up.
The Los Angeles Rams star was named to the coveted 99 club for the sixth year in a row when Madden NFL 23 announced the player ratings for the latest edition of the EA Sports franchise. He is now tied with legendary quarterback Peyton Manning for the most appearances in the club in the history of the game
He appeared in all 17 games and finished with a career-best 84 tackles, 12.5 sacks, four passes defended, and four forced fumbles all while dealing with double teams every game last season.
Most importantly, Donald won the first Super Bowl of his career.
