New betting odds indicate there’s a good chance that the Chicago Bears will end up trading quarterback Justin Fields this offseason.
Fields is coming off a stellar sophomore season for Chicago in which he threw 17 touchdown passes while rushing for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns. But with the Bears holding the top pick in this year’s draft, many wonder if they’ll look to trade Fields and select Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young out of Alabama instead.
The latest odds from Bookies.com give the Bears a 75 percent chance of trading the Ohio State product. The Bears still carry the highest odds of being Fields’ team for 2023 at 25 percent, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+400) and the New Orleans Saints (+475).
Following those teams are the Washington Commanders (+550), Baltimore Ravens (+600) and then the real longshots in the Atlanta Falcons (+1000), Carolina Panthers (+1000) and Las Vegas Raiders (+1500). The rest of the field is set at +2000.
If the Bears end up retaining Fields, there’s a high chance they’ll trade the first overall pick to a QB-needy team. The Houston Texans (second overall) and Indianapolis Colts (fourth overall) are teams to watch there.
For now, it looks as though the Justin Fields trade speculation will continue to ramp up.
