Gymnastics superstar and defending Olympic champion Simone Biles has withdrawn from Thursday’s individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Games to focus on her mental well-being. It came a day after Biles removed herself from the team final following one rotation, on vault. She cited her mental health as the reason when speaking to the media following the competition.
The 24-year-old Biles came to Tokyo as arguably the face of the Games.
Former NFL running back Larry Johnson thinks Biles and Osaka are dealing with much more than just their mental health in what he posted on his Instagram.
To perform and remember you have to slide in Devil horns after your performance, it’s much more going on than “mental health.”
