Larry Johnson isn’t wrong here.
The former Kansas City Chiefs running back took to Twitter and called out the NFL after they agreed to commit $250 million over 10 years to “combat systematic racism.”
Johnson pretty much stated the league is guilty of the same systematic racism that they claim to be trying to fight.
“The orginization that doesn’t even honor its own (Rooney Rule), blatantly overlooks black coaches, former players who want to be NFL coaches, is spending $250 million, when they won’t even audition black coaches for FREE!?”
As of June 2020, the NFL only has four minority head coaches — Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh Steelers), Anthony Lynn (Los Angeles Chargers), Brian Flores (Miami Dolphins) and Ron Rivera (Washington Redskins) — along with two minority general managers — Chris Grier (Dolphins) and Andrew Berry (Cleveland Browns).
