Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was reportedly considered by an NFC team in the wake of the aforementioned outfit placing the non-exclusive franchise tag on him.
Jackson, who revealed he asked the Ravens to be traded last month, is after a bumper new deal and must have expected NFL teams to scramble for his signature following March’s major development. But, as far as the people in the know are aware, he hasn’t received a single offer.
Teams even went out of their way to let it be known that they would not be pursuing the wantaway QB.
The San Francisco 49ers were not among those teams and, according to Dan Patrick, took Jackson’s availability into consideration. Speaking on his show, Patrick said he was told that the Niners “monitored everything, including Lamar Jackson, they explored that, or at least looked at that, they kicked the tires on that. And of course, you should do that, always try to improve.”
Jackson is free to discuss trades with other teams but the fact that he remains unrepresented has been a sticking point for NFL franchises.
On another note, it was reported that he played a role in recruiting Odell Beckham Jr., with the wide receiver assured he would be catching passes from the former MVP as part of his negotiations with the Ravens.

The Niners are thought to be open to trading Trey Lance as they have opted to move forward with Brock Purdy as their main man. The QB is recovering from elbow surgery after suffering an injury in the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles and it’s still unclear as to whether he will be fit for the start of the 2023/24 NFL season.
