Lamar Jackson appeared to take a direct shot at the Baltimore Ravens via social media on Monday, in the wake of their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night.
The parties are at loggerheads as the Ravens have refused to give the star quarterback a fully-guaranteed, five-year deal. On the team’s part, they were not happy about his unwillingness to participate in the playoffs with a PCL sprain.
Jackson has taken to Instagram this week to post the following to his Instagram story:
“When you have something good, you don’t play with it. You don’t take chances losing it. You don’t neglect it. When you have something good, you pour into it. You appreciate it. Because when you take care of something good, that good thing takes care of you too.”
Jackson has steered clear of negativity over the past few seasons but it appears he’s now fully prepared to play the role of villain as the Ravens have been suggesting as much while failing to back him whenever he’s painted as one by the media.
That said, it’s not necessarily over between Jackson and the Ravens. The opportunity to agree on a long-term deal remains, though it’s hard to see things going that way as they couldn’t even agree on terms when the relationship was in a good place.
