Lamar Jackson seems very pleased with the Baltimore Ravens locking Odell Beckham Jr. down to a contract, yet it’s being reported that he wanted the team to secure a deal with another wide receiver to sweeten the pot.
Beckham will don Ravens purple when he goes to work next season, having landed a $15 million deal with the team. He can make up to $18 million in add-ons.
The WR has since been spotted partying in Miami with the quarterback, who also shared a screenshot of their FaceTime session to his Instagram. According to Michael Lombardi (H/T Dov Kleiman), Lamar asked the team to get DeAndre Hopkins too.
Lombardi has made claims of the quarterback telling the Ravens to get both wideouts on the roster to get the ball rolling on solid negotiations.
Baltimore told the player they could only afford to bring in one and have since gotten Beckham.
It’s also been reported that the QB was instrumental in recruiting OBJ, with the player assured he will be catching his passes from the former MVP next season.

Hopkins is also on the market, with the Arizona Cardinals looking to trade the five-time Pro Bowler. But his contract is a sticking point as he’s due $15 million next season and $19 million in 2024.
The Jets are now believed to be in play for Hopkins, having missed out on Beckham.
