At 4-5, the Baltimore Ravens were looking dead in the water and the 2018 season was looking lost. Then starting QB Joe Flacco got hurt and rookie QB Lamar Jackson was inserted into the starting role.
The team then reeled off six wins in 7 games to win the AFC North crown and qualify for the playoffs. The team might’ve lost in the Wild Card round, but the season was a success, because the team wasn’t even supposed to be there with how they started the year.
“Inside the NFL” sent Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis to speak with the rookie QB back in December to see where his head was and Jackson made it clear he’s trying to be one of the greatest.
“I already said it when I got drafted: I wanted to bring a Super Bowl to Baltimore,” Jackson said.
“So, I’m going to try to bring as much as I can. … I want to bring the Super Bowl here. I want to be the [Tom] Brady [of Baltimore]. I want to be the Brady, bring multiple, if I could.”
The Ravens made a comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers in their playoff game, but Jackson looked absolutely terrible for much of that game and it caused the home fans to turn on him and boo anytime he came back out on the field.
The future is bright, but he is a ways to go to get to Tom Brady level.
